COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was founded in 2002 as a self-financed college of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). CPCE oversees the operation and development of its two educational units, namely Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) and School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED), with the aim of fostering synergy in providing quality education.

School of Professional Education and Executive Development

Research Assistant (Ref. 250403-01)
[Appointment period: twelve months, with possibility of extension]

Duties

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in the Research Grants Council (RGC) funded project - “Fostering student feedback literacy through a technology mediated multimodal platform: A teacher-student collaboration approach”. He/She will be required to:

(a) conduct literature review, data collection and analysis;
(b) assist the project team to comply with the project objectives, scope, timetable, and the expected deliverable;
(c) assist in collecting, gathering, analysing and presenting data from work undertaken;
(d) provide support in maintaining databases of surveys with multi-factorial output data;
(e) support the field surveys/interviews;
(f) administer the pilot and formal surveys;
(g) contribute to wider research project development and implementation;
(h) prepare regular reports for the Research Project Team;
(i) coordinate with participants and provide training, and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) an honours degree or an equivalent qualification, preferably in English Language Education;
(b) proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software;
(c) positive work attitude, good analytical and interpersonal skills;
(d) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
(e) the ability to work independently and complete various tasks in tight timelines, and
(f) self-motivation and sense of responsibility.

A solid understanding of various software packages, including SPSS, SmartPLS, NVivo, ATLAS.ti, and/or other AI research tools will be an advantage.
